1 year ago by

Design Assembly is thrilled to invite expressions of interest from passionate individuals to join us in nurturing and inspiring Aotearoa New Zealand’s design community through our 2024 workshop program. At Design Assembly, we’re dedicated to fostering the growth and development of designers on their unique journeys to living a life by design.

Our Vision:

Design Assembly is the home of Aotearoa New Zealand design – bringing our designers together as a community.

Our Mission:

Design Assembly supports Aotearoa New Zealand’s design community to inclusively connect, educate and inspire each other.

Our Values:

  • Inclusivity: Everyone is welcome at every age and stage.
  • Diversity: We want to inspire every visual designer on their individual journey.
  • Safety: Design Assembly provides a safe and positive environment to share knowledge, experiences and challenges.
  • Celebration: Showcasing, sharing and celebrating Aotearoa New Zealand visual design in all its diversity.
  • Connection: Design Assembly provides unique opportunities for visual designers to connect with and support each other.

About the Workshops:

Design Assembly is seeking passionate teachers to lead inspiring workshops in Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke, and Ōtautahi as we continue to support our vibrant design community. These workshops are a valuable opportunity to share your expertise, inspire others, and contribute to the growth of Aotearoa New Zealand’s design landscape.

What We’re Looking For:

We are interested in a diverse range of workshop topics and formats that cater to various design disciplines and stages of career and lifestage.
From concept generation, strategy, the business of design, leadership through to planet-centred design, UX/UI, illustration, typography, or any other facet of design, we want to hear from you. Your workshop should offer tangible learning outcomes and cater to designers at different levels of expertise.

To Express Your Interest:

Please email your expression of interest to Louise at louise@designassembly.org.nz by Friday, October 7, 2023. In your email, include:

1. A brief outline of your proposed workshop, highlighting its objectives and key takeaways.
2. Details about your target audience, such as their skill level or background.
3. Your own background and experience related to teaching or leading workshops.

Compensation:

We value your expertise and commitment to fostering creativity within our community. This is a paid opportunity, and the compensation details will be discussed during the selection process.

Design Assembly is committed to providing equal opportunities and promoting diversity within the design industry. We welcome expressions of interest from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.

We look forward to your innovative ideas and the possibility of working together to enrich the Aotearoa New Zealand design community. Let’s continue to build a design community that thrives on creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
