Opportunities for High School Students over school holidays

Our partner schools, Media Design School and Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, have these two events running for high school students over the school holiday break.

7 July: Shape Your Future – Celebrate Matariki with the Faculty of Architecture & Design Innovation

Shape your future, and celebrate Matariki with architecture and design innovation at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington! This on-campus event at our Te Aro campus is for senior high school students (Year 12 and 13) from all over Aotearoa who will be in Wellington during the July term two school holidays. Join us for the day on Friday 7 July, 2023 for a variety of different activities and experiences:

9am–2.30pm
This exciting and engaging event will include creative hands-on workshops for students interested in architecture, building science and/or design, along with information on our degrees and some kai provided for lunch.

4.30pm onwards
Embrace the kaupapa of Matariki. Join us in the evening for a meet and greet with staff and students. Hear all about what to expect in your first year of study and enjoy some nibbles.

12 & 13 July: Find Your Fit in the world of Digital Design

If you’re a high school student in year 11, 12 or 13 and thinking about working in a creative field now’s your chance to experience what it’s like to learn, study and practice in the digital design sphere. Explore two creative career paths in workshops available for 3D Animation and VFX, Game Art, Game Programming, and Interactive Design with our Find Your Fit programme.
