2021 Graphic Design Graduate Shows

November is always a busy month with the Graphic Design Graduate Shows across Aotearoa. Check out the online exhibitions or head along to discover your local talent, see what this generation of designers are thinking about, what they are making and help welcome these graduates to our professional community. Pitch is the final exhibition of Ara third year Bachelor of Design students. It is an explosion of creative ideas and the best work from students in Visual Communication, Applied Visual Arts, Motion Design, Fashion, and Photography.

The online artanddesign.aut.ac.nz exhibition represents the culmination of an educational experience; exploring a range of art and design topics, issues, approaches, and technologies, reflecting the School’s ambition to foster the individual creative potential of each student through engagement with world-class facilities.

The opening of the 2021 (AD21) cohort exhibition will be on Nov 26th, when the work from our talented AD21 cohort will go live. Until then, the website will be showcasing graduate work from 2020 – AD20.

Media Design School:

The Media Design School showcase will be exhibiting all capstone projects from the Bachelor of Media Design degree program. We will be running our exhibition show virtually.

We are now in the middle of uploading all 43 x Capstone projects from our graduating cohort for you to view. We will announce to everyone when the exhibition is up and running soon.EOY exhibition website to launch on 26th Nov.

Otago Polytechnic:

Debrief Exhibition: Graduate Showcase Otago Polytechnic.

The opening will be on Thursday 18 November (covid dependent) and the show will be open from Wednesday 17 November to Sunday 21 November, 10-3pm daily.

Victoria University of Wellington:

EOYE 2021 is the annual end of year exhibition of Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington showcasing an impressive range of talent by third-year students from the Te Wāhanga Waihanga-Hoahoa—Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation. These are the creative thinkers, makers, minds, designers and architects of the future—soon to be shaping our Aotearoa, and the world.

To help keep the exhibition visitors, our students and staff safe, the on-campus exhibition is postponed from 2021 to 2022. The design awards will be delivered online in December 2021. An online exhibition celebrating the students’ work will open also later in 2022.

SoMA Creative Showcase 2021

Our 2021 Creative Showcase event which details the different ways we are celebrating our graduating students this year. We’ll be launching a digital publication on 25 Nov, in lieu of an on-campus exhibition.

The end of year exhibition is a celebration of work by Art and Design students from across UCOL’s teaching programmes. Art and Design work from Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor and Masters students is included.

The opening will be on the 22nd November and it will be running until 26th November.
