You are invited to join us online as two designers walk us through how a project worked. Each designer will share the brief, how they approached it, talk us through that internal feedback loop – This is too hard! It’s not working! Why did I decide to be a designer?! – and out to the other side to client love and project success. All of these insights in a quick conversational talk and additional time for live Q&A.

Under the Hood is a live event from 12.30pm – 1.30pm. Grab your sandwich, tea, coffee or kombucha and pull up a chair with your studio friends or in your WFH office. You can enter the event from 12.15pm on the day.

Rush Digital | Patricia Tan & Rod Acevedo

Patricia is a Senior Digital Product Designer with extensive background in human-centred design for tech that creates positive impact for people and planet. Philippine-born & Aotearoa-raised, Patricia has a particular interest in design for equity and inclusion that seeks to honour and connect the lived experiences of a diverse society to ‘build better together’ through interdisciplinary collaboration. Recently she has been leading research, strategy & design streams for projects across multi-dimensional spaces including non-profit, charity, wellbeing, and professional services.

Rod, an energetic and award-winning strategist and design lead, is known for his creative thinking and innovative approach. Originally from Chile, he’s dedicated his career to revolutionizing design practices, breaking down colonial barriers, and fostering a culture of inclusion centred on empathy and human-focused design. In recent years, he has tackled various complex design challenges across various industries, from healthcare to insurance and everyday services. Rod’s work is characterized by tackling complex challenges and providing solutions that resonate deeply with businesses and customers. He’s part of the Rare with Google program and a design mentor on ADPList, where he shares his passion and expertise, inspiring the next generation of design leaders.
