Recap: Design & AI Autumn Conversations events
We’ve just wrapped our 2023 Autumn Conversations event across the three cities – Auckland, Wellington, & Christchurch.
Along with providing an opportunity for Aotearoa NZ’s design community to connect in person, our biannual conversation events are also a platform for the community to air out their ideas, critiques, and questions around relevant topics affecting the industry.
With this year’s theme of ‘Design & AI’ – in Auckland we touched on topics like how AI is changing the landscape of marketing and advertising and what that means for designers. At Wellington’s event, we reflected on the intersection of AI and Te Ao Māori. In Christchurch, we talked about ways to elevate our design practice through AI tools.
Check out some of the images from the events below and for our DA Friends who weren’t able to attend the events in person, you can watch the recap of the Auckland Design & AI event below.

Keen to continue the Design & AI learning for your team?
Coming up in June is the ‘Taking advantage of AI to elevate your design practice’ workshop.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the benefits and drawbacks of AI in design and the science of prompting, and engage in exercises ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
You’ll explore the areas where AI can collaborate with humans and answer questions that humans can’t. By the end of the session, you’ll have gained new insights into the world of AI in design and practical takeaways to implement in your own work.
*DA Friends save $100 on their workshop tickets.
