Fresh From The Field — The Arts Foundation “Make Your Mark” by McCarthy
5 years ago by Louise Kellerman
This Fresh From The Field features The Arts Foundation “Make Your Mark” tool, alongside the fresh new rebrand by
McCarthy. We caught up with Stephen to learn more about the tool aspect of the site.
If you have new or recent work that you would like to share in Fresh from the Field email Louise for details.
The Brief:
As part of our rebrand of The Arts Foundation we were tasked with developing an engagement tool for the month of September where Aotearoa would be asked to share their view on the arts, what they mean to them and why they matter. The tool needed to work both in digital as well as physically. It needed to be as accessible to all New Zealanders as possible and be measurable for key stakeholders.
Our Response:
Utilising the concept we developed for The Arts Foundation ‘Make Your Mark’, we created the ‘Art Is:’ tool alongside our digital partners –
Batch. The
interactive tool lets you draw, write, paint, upload and share what art means to you during Arts Month. Good, bad, controversial, creative, risqué – we invite Aotearoa to get creative and share their point of view. The digital tool was coupled with a poster campaign so keep an eye out for the campaign around town – we invite you to graffiti these posters! To this date It’s been a great success with over 2000 submissions so far, as well as the first ever New Zealand Arts Ball which raised over $200k in funding to help grow and fund our future artists.
