This week’s Fresh From The Field features a packaging project and a milestone for Onfire Design
If you have new or recent work that you would like to share in Fresh from the Field email Louise for details.

The brief:
The cocktail and beverage category is a rapidly growing sector. To stand out a new brand needs to think a little differently and bring some innovation for a demanding consumer group that are always looking to discover new and unique flavours.

The response:
Luxerose is an RTD range of cocktails aimed at the young, millennial female audience in New Zealand and China. Designed for social occasions and gifting, New Zealand mixologists were commissioned to create 3 distinctive cocktail blends reflecting current flavours and taste trends in the New Zealand social scene. Packaging the cocktails was an essential part of the project, in conjunction with the client we created a unique set of 3 glass vials which, when chilled, could easily be dispensed at home or in bars. These were contained within a presentation case decorated with a modern, colourful abstract botanical illustration showing various flora and fauna from New Zealand. With future range extensions intending to utilise the same livery but with illustrations reflecting different countries and cities. Bright, colourful and fun, this new way of enjoying cocktails brings a new dynamic to any social event.

The recognition:
The packaging for Luxerose RTD cocktails was awarded Silver by the World Packaging Design Society, this came hot on the heels of taking Gold at the New Zealand Best Design Awards and a Gold from the World Packaging Design Society for Manuka Emporium. Earning Onfire a worldwide top 10 Design Agency ranking from the World Brand Design Society.

World Brand Design Society league table ranking represents the top 50 most awarded creative agencies and designers in the field of consumer and corporate brand design. This data has been independently curated from the Notable Agencies and Works, now called the World Brand Design Awards. This is the first global league ranking dedicated to the consumer and corporate brand design, we hope it’s as insightful as it is inspiring.
