Off Grid 18: The Experiential City

Wellington
26–27 February 2018

Off Grid 18 is a different kind of design conference that will engage you in a conversation about designing for the ‘experiential city’ using exciting locations throughout the city.
Off Grid 18 is the next international event from the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) — a multidisciplinary community connecting people to place. Early Bird Tickets are now on sale at $90.
Each year we invite four keynote speakers and let the rest evolve around them — at Off Grid 17 participants experienced 30 speakers in 15 unique venues. This year we have invited keynotes from: Gehl (Denmark), North (UK), Department of the 4th Dimension (USA) and Public (Canada).
Off Grid 18 takes place in February 2018 in Wellington with ‘stopovers’ in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane that will help you break up your travel and experience a locally organised event. The cities become the auditorium so you won’t feel trapped in a lecture theatre or boring conference hotel. This year we have added Melbourne, where Büro North will help you get lost in the maze of Melbourne’s cityscape. They are developing a new and unique experience to help you discover hidden icons, architectural marvels, design delights and unearth the underground history of Melbourne. Then weigh into the conversation and piece together your collected findings with other fellow explorers and unlock the puzzle that awaits you at the final destination. Uncover an unexpected side of Melbourne! More details on the Sydney and Brisbane stopovers soon.
Off Grid 18 is a must for all people who connect people to place, be that through architecture, urban design, planning, signage, experience design, art or activism, and everything in between!
