2021 Wellington DA Event: EOY Wrap Party

5 months ago by

On 1st December 2021, Design Assembly, in partnership with Strategy Creative and Out Of Office, hosted Wellington’s DA end of year wrap up event.

The event had a great turn out, with a variety of creative minds and backgrounds coming together to celebrate the end to a tough year. Under the theme of ‘passion projects and side hustles’, attendees were treated to talks from Janelle Rodrigues of Creature, speaking about pottery and getting messy. As well as Ryan Shields of Strategy, talking about finding magic in the mundane with his creative writing and ‘a badly drawn life’ Instagram series.

The group were quick to note both talks had strong undertones of imperfection and a lack of accountability to them, observations which lead to some great Parrot Dog and Finery fueled chats following the talks.

The event was a good reminder that there are like minds out there, we’ve all been through year together and the community will only get stronger the more we share – something I’m looking forward to continuing to foster in the new year.
