Fresh from the Field — Skinnies Kids Sungel by 2di4 Design

6 years ago by

This week’s Fresh From The Field features the typography, packaging and campaign for Skinnies Kids Sungel by 2di4 Design.
If you have new or recent work that you would like to share in Fresh from the Field email Lana for details.

Like all Skinnies projects, they are a fun collaboration with this creative client.
This time around Olly and Martha Van Arts (Skinnies Founders) wanted to develop and formulate a sungel especially designed for Adventure Loving Youngsters – i.e. Kids.
As parents of 5 children themselves, they knew their target market well and recognised that it was an fantastic opportunity to expand their range creating a product line that appealed to youth and tapped into the lucrative kids products market.
Three themes were developed with Street Pop Artist Jun Arita to appeal to both boys and girls. Beach Boy, Barefoot Babe and River Rascal.
Opposite to other kids products in this category, these tubes oozed character and fun to give them a strong on-shelf presence.
Unlike other sunscreen products, Skinnies Sungel is formulated with no water using Organogel technology, so you use 5 times less than ordinary sunscreens. On top of this, it is much nicer to apply to the skin. Therefore kids don’t squirm at the sight of Skinnies, they actually enjoy putting it on before they head off and play outside.
