Make Something 2016

10 years ago by

After a successful return in 2015, Make Something is back this November at Allpress Studio, Auckland with yet another impressive line-up of creative collaborations.
In the creative industries it’s often rare that we get the opportunity to collaborate without the common interest of a client brief. And, even more rare, that our potential collaborators themselves come from an industry not often associated with the creative arts.
Make Something was established to create a forum that publicly celebrates working with the people we often creatively admire from afar. Annually we ask a handpicked group of graphic designers a simple question — given absolute free reign, who would you choose to work with and what would the results of this mash-up be? The only rule we ask them to abide by is that their chosen collaborator not be another graphic designer.
The line-up of creative collaborations for 2016 are:
Chris Jones (graphic designer, Switch) and Rinzi Ruiz (LA photographer)
Richard Unsworth (graphic designer, Unsworth Shepherd) and José Gutierrez (architect)
Janelle Rodrigues (graphic designer, Creature) and Jade Townsend (artist)
Heath Lowe (graphic designer, Special Group) and Darryl Ward (cinematographer)
Catherine Griffiths (graphic designer, Studio Catherine Griffiths) and Matt Galloway (artist, designer, writer)
Visit makesomething.co.nz for more information on the collaborators as well as a look back at past exhibitions.
Free to the public
Runs Thursday 24 and Friday 25 November, 9am—2pm and Saturday 26 November, 9am—12pm.
