The brief
Naveya & Sloane’s design philosophy of designing from all angles realises their belief that jewellery should be experienced holistically: emotionally, physically. It means creating jewellery that resonates on multiple levels, to capture the full spectrum of the human experience. As a business they embrace inclusivity. Conversations between Rachel Sloane and Grace Stratton, CEO at All Is For All began to explore shared values around beauty, design, and inclusion to investigate ways in which Naveya & Sloane further adapt their practice.

The design response
The Resonance project transformed five of Naveya & Sloane’s iconic engagement ring designs into immersive soundscapes co-designed with blind and low vision individuals. The soundscapes demonstrate how accessible and inclusive design can expand and enrich the perception of beauty for all.
Exploring a sensory approach beyond the visual reflects Naveya & Sloane’s belief that jewellery should be experienced holistically: emotionally, physically, and now audibly. It’s about the stories, emotions and connections that make each piece deeply meaningful. Reimagining jewellery through sound is a way to honour different ways of perceiving beauty and to amplify voices that are often underrepresented in the luxury jewellery space. Collaborating with blind and low vision contributors allowed the creation of something truly authentic, where sound becomes a powerful medium to feel and imagine jewellery beyond sight.
Blind and low vision individuals were interviewed by composers Peter Van Der Fluit and Thom Darlow of sonic branding studio Memory Machine to draw out an emotional response from experiencing each ring through touch. This, combined with the design story for each ring from Rachel Sloane formed the inspiration for the final soundscapes. Naveya & Sloane’s design and content team then crafted pieces of motion for each soundscape to accentuate their stories meanings for all audiences.
