Between the Pages Edu Series: Choosing paper types for your book design

1 year ago by

We popped by our Friends at Bookprint to see how they make and print books right here in Aotearoa NZ. In this week’s series, David shares with us some examples of different paper types on offer and when to consider each.

Key Takeaways

  • Coated stock is typically used for the likes coffee table books or books with lots of very high quality images. It adds a bit more brilliance to the colours
  • Uncoated stock is typically used for text heavy books.
  • Neutral white paper stock allow you to get the most accurate colour reproduction.
  • Speciality stocks can add a nice texture and/or thickness to your book but does increase the price quite a bit.
