Recap: 2023 Pub Quiz in Tāmaki Makaurau

3 years ago by

For those of you new to DA or who haven’t had a chance to attend one of our pub quizzes yet – imagine a night of wacky frivolity.

Where folks unleash their inner nerd, going all out to win the design trivia and/or the maker’s challenge – and that’s pretty much what you can expect when you and your team book a table for the night’s event.

Despite the chill outside, the buzz of folks laughing, furiously cutting out paper crowns, and debating over trivia answers kept us warm on the inside.

We kept everyone fed on the night with delicious platters donated by The Sustainable Food Company, a start to finish plant based and zero waste catering company.

And each trivia round included an enviable prize pack with goodies donated by our generous sponsors. Some ( of the many! ) items included were:
  • Trinity Hill supplied several bottles of their Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay and Syrah and a very special bottle of their flagship Homage Syrah.
  • a massive 6L bottle of Cooper’s Creek Gimblett Gravels Merlot/Malbet 2016
  • a monthly subscription to Altezano Brother’s Coffee Roasters
  • a $150 voucher to Gordon Harris to name a few.

And after a very close battle for first ( so close that it almost resulted in a dance off between the two final teams ), ‘Parenthal Guidance’ from Isthmus took out the title of 2023 DA Pub Quiz grand prize winners .
