Christchurch: DA Conversations Autumn series — Meet the speakers

8 years ago by

This years DA Conversations are back in Christchurch with two local creatives sharing their stories. In the lead up to next weeks event lets meet the speakers!

Kate Darby — Co-Founder at Dovetail X
Kate Darby is the Co-Founder at Dovetail X; Design Studio Facilitator at Ara Institute of Canterbury; Design Partner Darby.pro; Host of The Design Kids TDKTuesdays Christchurch; AND part of the wining team for the Adobe Christchurch Creative Jam 2017!
Kate will be taking about User Experience (UX) from a design perspective. She believes that designing with a user-centred focus, identifying problems, and letting that inform the solution and medium are important steps in her process. Living and travelling around the world has also given her a passion for seeking new experiences which she loves bringing all these together to create rich, playful and thoughtful creations.

Rachel Larsen  (USA) — Animator
With vast experience in feature film stop-motion animation (Coraline, Paranorman, Isle of Dogs, Lead Animator on Anomalisa), Rachel also has unparalleled credentials in animation for children’s television: she was the Animation Director for Amazon’s Tumble Leaf, and in that role she set the style for the multi-award winning show.
