Head of Design
Website Tomorrow
We are on the hunt for a talented and experienced designer to help build upon our design excellence and inspire our creative team.
ABOUT US
Tomorrow is a brand studio. We work with start-ups and large corporates alike, developing distinctive brands, packaging and websites. Founded in 2012 and with established studios in Auckland and Christchurch, we've been doing awesome work for awesome clients around New Zealand and the globe for over a decade.
ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE
We're looking for someone who will effortlessly slot into our studio and be comfortable in helping direct our other designers in the work that they do. You'll need to compliment our culture but bring your own style and perspective. You’ll possess a natural design flair and have ideally been working in an agency environment for at least seven years.
Brand and identity development will be second nature to you and you’ll have extensive experience in digital design and packaging. If you've already been leading a creative team, brilliant. If you haven't, but aspire to take that next step, we're still keen to chat.
You need to be on the tools as well, personally working on a varied and exciting client roster – seeing projects through from initial strategic and design stages to implementation, with opportunities to engage directly with the client. You’ll love to take ownership and naturally take the initiative, but at the same time enjoy being part of a collaborative creative team and helping them achieve their goals too.
Exceptional communication skills are a mandatory. You'll have a natural ability to provide the design team with clear and considered feedback on their work, to the point that it is ready to share with the client and is fit for purpose. While at the same time be able to provide the big picture thinking at the start of a project to help direct them in the most appropriate direction.
Creative excellence and bold ideas are your playground, but at the same time you’ll possess an innate ability to produce work that delivers to the commercial needs of our clients. It’s essential that you are highly skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite and are digitally savvy, with knowledge of print processes an advantage.
As a growing studio, you’ll want to grow with us and be supported by an encouraging, flexible studio environment where we like to have fun and celebrate success along the way.
Ideally you’ll be located in our Christchurch studio full time. However we are open to alternative arrangements for the right person.
