Urbis Designday, Auckland’s best day in design

8 years ago by

Urbis Designday, New Zealand’s premier public design event and a celebration of original thinking, will serve up a sensory feast on Saturday 25 March.

An eclectic mix of designers – from the worlds of art, architecture and interior design – have been teamed up with leading design showrooms dotted around Ponsonby, Eden Terrace, Parnell and Newmarket, to create a series of temporary installations and activations.

Urbis Designday guests will be chauffeured between showrooms to experience the inspiring installations and hospitality, hopping on and off the free transport at their leisure.

There are several great prizes to be won on the day, including a Giotto Evoluzione V2 coffee machine, a year’s supply of L’affare coffee and a luxury Lexus weekend package staying at Auckland’s Sofitel.

Now in its 10th year, Urbis Designday is one of the most anticipated dates on the design calendar – the big day out for design lovers and enthusiasts. “This tour of tasteful, intelligent and sophisticated design in its many guises is a must. From practical ideas for the home through to innovative concepts for future urban living… Designday promises, once again, to be an amazing celebration of outstanding design and the memories it helps create,” says Urbis editor Federico Monsalve.

The venues and their design collaborators for Urbis Designday 2017 were announced at an exclusive champagne breakfast at L’affare Melrose in Newmarket on 1 March and include:

  • Resene + The Wonder Group
  • 2017 Lexus Design Awards in association with Resident
